After 2023 left investors scratching their heads, U.S. News is asking whether the much discussed, yet elusive, recession and bear market are waiting for us in 2024.
The publication shares a word of caution from Quorum Managing Partner Kelly Milligan at the beginning of the article: “At the end of 2022, nearly every expert at the major banks predicted a recession and/or bear market in 2023. And yet, despite some volatility and selling over the summer, markets logged a largely positive year.”
In other words, U.S. news suggests that even if every expert they talk to predicts a recession for 2024, take it with a grain of salt.
